Children's Care

Key Facts:

Start brushing your child's teeth as soon as they appear.
Parents should help their children brush and floss until age 6.
Use a soft bristled child's toothbrush with children's fluoride toothpaste (do not swallow).
There are 20 primary/"baby" teeth and when fully grown there are 32 secondary/"adult" teeth.
As permanent molars come in sealants are highly recommended to protect from occlusal decay.

 

When to Expect Baby Teeth:



Baby Bottle Tooth Decay:
Prevent early childhood tooth decay by using plain water in baby bottles at bedtime and naptime.
Avoid exposure of teeth to sugary liquids for a prolonged period of time.
